Campus Outreach
"So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus" (Acts 19:9).
Our ministry at Gulu University is dedicated to nurturing students' faith, fostering community, and developing leaders. Here’s a glimpse of what we offer:
1. Campus Small Groups: In these intimate gatherings, students delve into the Bible, share life experiences, and strengthen their relationships with God and each other. It’s a space for growth, support, and deepening faith.
2. Ignite Campus Worship Night: Every gathering is an explosion of worship, where students come together to lift their voices in praise, receive inspiring messages rooted in Scripture, and unite in fervent prayer. It’s a time of spiritual renewal and connection with the heart of God.
3. Campus Question Night: This forum tackles the tough questions that students grapple with, providing a platform for open dialogue, honest exploration, and solid answers grounded in the truth of the Christian faith. It’s a space where doubts are addressed, faith is strengthened, and understanding deepens.
Through these transformative experiences, we empower students to grow in their faith, cultivate authentic relationships, and step into leadership roles that will impact their campus, their communities, and the world.
City Outreach
"Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city ...pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper" (Jeremiah 29:7).
We are dedicated to fostering the peace and prosperity of our beloved city, Gulu. Our mission is to reach Gulu with the gospel by supporting pastors and church planters in establishing and nurturing healthy churches. Here’s how we are working to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout our city:
1. Shepherd the Flock Pastors' Conference: An annual event for pastors in Gulu and the surrounding areas, providing them with the training, encouragement, and resources they need to lead their congregations effectively.
2. Church in Hard Places (CiHP) Gulu Cohort: A mentorship program for pastors and church planters, conducted in partnership with Acts 29. This program equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to plant and grow thriving churches in challenging environments.
Through these initiatives, we aim to make a lasting impact on our community, ensuring that the message of Christ reaches every corner of Gulu.
Outreach to the Unreached
"Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done." (Psalm 105:1, NIV)
The Ik People: Nestled in the northeastern region of Uganda, near the Kenyan border, the Ik people are a predominantly agrarian community, living in quaint villages around the scenic Mount Morungole. Despite their rich cultural heritage, the 10,000 to 15,000 individuals who make up this ethnic group remain largely unreached by Christianity. Positioned between two other tribes, the Ik present a unique and precious opportunity for sharing the gospel.
Our mission is to illuminate the lives of the Ik people by introducing them to the Christian faith and addressing their essential needs. We mobilize passionate university students to join this gospel movement, embarking on short-term mission trips to bring the message of Jesus Christ directly to the Ik community.
Your financial contributions are pivotal to our mission’s success. Donations are meticulously allocated to provide food, clothing, medical supplies, and other vital resources, ensuring that the Ik people’s physical needs are met. More profoundly, these acts of kindness serve as heartfelt expressions of love, creating a fertile ground for the spiritual teachings of Jesus Christ to flourish.
By supporting our mission to the Ik people, you become an integral part of this transformative journey, bringing hope, love, and the gospel to a community in need. Your generosity helps light the path towards a brighter, faith-filled future for the Ik.
