Membership
Membership Matters
Our belief is that being a member of a church should go beyond simply attending meetings and contributing financially. Rather, we encourage individuals to establish a covenant relationship with their local church. The process involves four steps: Firstly, enrolling in our Membership Matters equip classes to understand the significance of membership. Secondly, having a personal meeting with the pastor to share one's Christian journey. Thirdly, undergoing baptism (if not previously baptized). Finally, being publicly acknowledged as a member on a designated new membership Sunday.
Become a Member
To become a formal member, individuals must confirm their agreement with What We Believe and our Membership Covenant (displayed below). It is essential to note that we encourage members not to live in isolation. Therefore, we urge you to enrol in our upcoming Membership Matters Class. Membership Covenant
Having been born again by the Spirit of God and drawn to faith and repentance in the Lord Jesus Christ, we now, relying on God’s grace, enter into a covenant with one another as Christ’s body:
-
We will seek to magnify the cross of Christ in all that we do, knowing that it is by the grace of God alone that our sins have been forgiven, our old nature put to death, and we have been raised to new life in Christ.
-
We will live our lives according to the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, having submitted ourselves to God’s Word and embraced this church’s Statement of Faith as a trustworthy summary of biblical teaching.
-
We will seek to exemplify a true Christian community, caring for one another, admonishing one another, and bearing each other's burdens.
-
We will use our spiritual gifts in God honouring ways to build up the body.
-
We will strive to be faithful in the Word of God and prayer, studying the Scriptures privately and corporately, and praying for ourselves and others.
-
We will show the joy of new life in Christ, by active participation in the life of the church, through hearing the Word of God and observing the Lord’s Supper, and by faithful attendance to worship, all to the glory of God.
-
We will give cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
-
We will accept the spiritual guidance of the church, obeying its doctrines and teaching.
-
We will walk in a spirit of Christian love in the congregation, seeking what makes for unity, purity, and peace.
-
Upon moving from this place, we will unite, if possible, with a church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all now and forever. Amen!
